In the last month, my WordPress subscriber list has gone WAY up. I get dozens of new sign-up notifications a day, and hundreds in a week. So…I have to ask…who are you? Are you bots? Are you real? Are you Realβ„’? Say hello in the comments below, and tell me who you are, and how you found this blog! Thank you. And hiyeeee πŸ™‚

Hi Monica, found your WordPress from your Twitter feed. And I’m real, honestly, living in the North of England. Have a good day

  2. astrojak says:

Hi! I can’t remember how I found your blog, but I enjoy it every time a notification lands in my inbox! You have some great insights about the world, and scholarly advice on becoming a writer.

  3. Fabulous results, more than 3,000 subscribers — have you done something different? Have you been in the public eye more somehow?

I started subscribing long ago when someone on Twitter sent me to your wonderful spreadsheet of submissions and rejections — so I have no personal insights to offer here.

But if you figure out what it is, let us know!

  4. Bhanu says:

    No, they aren’t bots n neither am I !

It is just the reciprocation of your work and something that happens after you do some amazing work.

So yes, I like your blog too and when your name flashes, I like to see what’s new!

I found you here in WP reading list.

    See you around.

Hi, Monica! I found my way over here from Twitter. I saw someone retweeting you and I thought, “She seems really smart about art and interesting.” I’ve found I enjoyed your tweets, your stories, and your novels. Maybe someday I will see one of your plays on stage.

As for me, I’m a writer, storyteller, actor, playwright, and spoken-word performer living in Minnesota. I’m blind, married, getting older, and have two cats who are probably more famous on the internet than I am, and that’s cool with me.

  6. jamjarhead says:

I saw your abs on Instagram.

  7. sweetsound says:

Been following for awhile so I can’t remember exactly but I think it was either WordPress freshly pressed or WordPress discover.

    • Monica Byrne says:

Oh excellent! And my wannabe Confirmation name was Joan for a long time–I called myself Monica Catherine Lucy Joan Byrne. Hahahaha.

      • Monica Bryant says:

Tiny world in a big way! My Confirmation name was Clare!

Seems like I replied twice here and you responded to the one that looks a wee bit illiterate! (damn spell check!) I have no idea what “both name first” means!

Thanks a million for taking the time to comment! Happy Spring!

      • Monica Byrne says:

WHAT. Clare is my sister’s name!!! Excellent. And oops, I thought they were both the same, so I deleted the other one, hahah…I didn’t even notice πŸ˜‰

  17. Hello! Not a bot and first learned about you in an article I read somewhere. It’s all a little foggy.

  18. Jason Scully-Clemmons says:

    Hi, Monica!

I only stumbled in after seeing your tweet about new blog followers. (“WHAT?!? She has a blog that I haven’t been reading? Rectify now!”) So, there’s proof I’m not a robot; robots are *way* more observant.

    Ok,so, to sum up:
    I’m Jason.
    I’m not a bot.
If I can manage to be brave, truthful, and unselfish, perhaps someday, I will be a real boy, or so the Blue Fairy says. That’s a daily challenge, and a decent goal, to be honest.
Since my jokes are cheesy, I suppose I am already Realβ„’.

    Howdy!

    Hi Monica,
I found a WordPress entry when I Googled Belize one day.I can’t remember what I was looking for, but I recognized your picture as someone who sat on the porch of my husband and my restaurant on Burns Ave, in San Ignacio (Flayva’s). I served you more than a few drinks while you were in Belize, and now I love keeping up with your further adventures. Especially the comments on people making art in less than mainstream ways. Keep it up and thanks! CaraLee
