Snapshot.

The interview was actually four hours long, and took place in a Cuban sandwich shop, a church courtyard, and a library auditorium. I think it’s a nice snapshot of where I am–working a lot, loving it, and not taking anything for granted. When I started at Elsewhere last month, I became acutely aware of how accomplishment-oriented I’d become; but the process, as always, taught me stiff lessons. The Memory Palace was nowhere near a finished product, and it was emotionally very draining. But that’s okay. I did it, I shared it with people I love, and I learned so much. And no matter what awards or recognitions or newspaper profiles I may or may not get, I am constantly re-learning, to my great happiness, that art is still the only thing I want to do. I got no Plan B.
